Background
Ever since I have been interested in technological innovation and the creation of new products. Since the start of my studies, I have focussed on the energy sector and I am determined to stay in this field, while hopefully experiencing and contributing to the transition to a more sustainable world.
As a student and passionate, I have enjoyed the master's program Sustainable Energy Technology at the Eindhoven University of Technology. In my curriculum, I have worked on projects where we modeled and optimized the performance of a heat pump, made calculations on the operation of solar cells, designed a district heating network using a sewage treatment plant as a heat source, and modeled smart grid applications. This may sound technical if you are not an engineer - and it is - but the nice part is that I love to explain it in simple words, making it understandable for broad audiences!
I had the opportunity to practice this during my time at Solar Team Eindhoven. For 1.5 years I quit my study to take up the role of Public Relations and Finance Manager. With 22 other students from different backgrounds, we have built a solar-powered family car for 5 persons with which we competed in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia. During this rollercoaster, I began to understand how sustainable innovations are developed and how important it is to share a complex message in an appealing way.
After winning the World Solar Challenge with Solar Team Eindhoven and completing my bachelor's, I was ready for a new adventure, this time in New York City. For 6 months I assisted the Economic Department of the Dutch Consulate-General with the soft-landing of Dutch businesses on the Eastcoast of the USA. I mainly focused on companies in the field of smart cities, renewable energy, circularity and water management.
Back in Eindhoven, I finished my Master's program and started my professional career at DIFFER, the Dutch Institute for fundamental energy research. For more information about my career experience, past projects, and current work portfolio, don't hesitate to reach out on LinkedIn, Instagram, email. Hope to meet you soon!
